Acheivements so far!
- The Leicester Diabetes Self-Assessment Risk Score has had a significant impact on health across the UK. The assessment has been taken by more than 150,000 people since its launch on the Diabetes UK web site and it has been recommended by NICE as an important contributor to diabetes screening strategies.
- The DESMOND diabetes education has trained more than 800 educators based across 105 primary healthcare organisations around the UK and Ireland. DESMOND has also been adopted by the state of Western Australia as their preferred structured education programme for diabetes care
- The Walking Away from Diabetes project has now been implemented in eight primary health care organisations nationally. Fifty educators have been trained who have delivered the programme to over 500 individuals with a high risk of type-2 diabetes in routine primary care.
